Obtained a complete motion to dismiss for an IT consulting firm and an individually named
executive, where a former employee complained that he had been misclassified as an
independent contractor and that the company had terminated him in retaliation
when he complained of the misclassification.Member of a trial-team that obtained a defense verdict in a three-week employment
discrimination jury trial for leading mutual fund management company where
demand was $40 million.Obtained a lack of probable cause finding for a university, where the former employee
made allegations of gender and age discrimination.Assisted a large accounting firm in managing the legal aspects of a substantial
reduction in force.Drafted an Employee Handbook for hundreds of employers who are members of the
Retail Association of Massachusetts.Successfully settled numerous wage and hour matters.
Negotiated separation agreements on behalf of both executives and businesses.
Obtained dismissal of a race discrimination case before the Massachusetts
Commission Against Discrimination.Assisted client to obtain an order granting a motion for summary judgment, dismissing
breach of contract and related claims asserted against a mutual fund company.Represented a website company in a Wage and Hour class action lawsuit.
Conducted hundreds of sexual and other unlawful harassment prevention seminars.
Obtained a lack of probable cause finding before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination on behalf of a large university, where the complainant alleged discrimination on the basis of her race, national origin, sex and disability.
Obtained a lack of probable cause finding before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on behalf of a publishing company, where the complainant alleged disability discrimination following her termination.
Conducted, “How to Conduct Internal Investigations,” a webinar for the Northeast Human Resources Association.
Obtained a lack of probable cause finding before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination on behalf of a small retail business, where the complainant alleged she was terminated on the basis of her gender and disability.
Conducted, “How to Conduct Internal Investigations,” a five-hour program for a Human Resources Business Partners at a large, multi-national company.
Represented clients on a pro bono basis, including the Boston Debate League, the Center for Women and Enterprise, two Tibetan men seeking asylum in the U.S., and an incarcerated individual claiming she was denied appropriate medical treatment.
Served, pro bono, as a consultant for the Educational Resources arm of the MIT Equal Pay Working Group. Advised on Massachusetts and federal wage and non-compete laws.
